Reli-e-Marg has been empanelled as a GIS Service
Provider (GSP) under the R-APDRP initiative by the
Ministry of Power in its individual capacity.
R-APDRP (Restructured Accelerated Power Development
and Reform Programme), a flagship programme of the
Govt. of India, having a total outlay of about 50
crore Rupees, has empanelled IT Consultants and IT
Implementation Agencies (ITIA) for implementing the
IT-related schemes in the in the Indian Distribution
utility companies (DISCOMs) across the country, aimed
at achieving AT&C loss reduction. The 4 ITIA roles
being empanelled are the System Integrators (SI),
GSPs, Network Service Providers (NSP) and Meter Data
Service Providers (MDASP).
As an empanelled GSP, Reli-e-Marg will be able to provide an entire range of GIS-based services to the Indian DISCOMs starting from the initial DGPS-based field surveys, preparation of electrical network on the base maps mapped to the exact co-ordinates, integrated network analysis routines and offer various MIS reports.
Reli-e-Marg announced the successful completion of its 1st ISO 9001:2000 surveillance audit, by Bureau Veritas, Bangalore, the globally recognized testing, inspection and certification organization.
BV conducted the annual review and evaluated all the Quality management systems in place and improvements made to the various departments like Design&Development, Systems and Human Resources. The successful surveillance audit reiterates the company's commitment of offering quality services to its customers, with the continued implementation of well-defined and systematic processes.
In a press conference organized in Bangalore on February 17th 2009, Energy Minister K S Eshwarappa announced that the Karnataka State government would take up reforms to reduce the aggregate technical and commercial (AT&C) losses of power distribution companies, in as many as 99 towns across the State, under the centrally-aided Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme (RAPDRP).
He spoke about power distribution in Karnataka and use of GIS, and that all the DISCOMs of Karnataka would take up GIS mapping of their assets, in continuation of the project already implemented successfully in Mysore. The GIS project in Mysore referred to here, has been implemented by Reli-e-Marg.
